Lisa is a senior staff nurse at KNAPP. She demonstrates leadership qualities in the areas of assertiveness, problem recognition, and problem-solving. Lisa provides exemplary patient/family-centered and primary nurse care as evidenced by her patients' positive outcomes. She demonstrates a wide range of rehabilitation expertise as she serves as a primary nurse for a variety of patient diagnoses. Her approach with her primary patients is collaborative and she is able to promote the rehab philosophy of planned progress with them while attending to their adjustment issues. She knows when to "back off" and give room or a "time out" for emotions. She pays attention to details in order to advocate for patient and family needs with physicians and with the interdisciplinary care team.
Lisa's skills are apparent with patients who have cognitive impairments as she manages behavior. She is a role model for de-escalation techniques and has frequently provided other staff with suggestions about behavior management. Her suggestions to other staff are expressed respectfully.
