I am writing to wholeheartedly nominate Lisa Compton, wound care nurse, for the DAISY Award. Lisa is a shining example of what compassionate, skilled nursing should look like, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under her care.

From the first time Lisa came into my room, she brought with her a sense of calm and joy that instantly lifted my spirits. Wound care is not always easy-physically or emotionally - but Lisa approached each visit with patience, professionalism, and genuine kindness. No matter how busy her day might have been, she always showed up with a cheerful attitude, a bright smile, and encouraging words.

What stood out most was how she treated me not just as a patient, but as a person. She took time to explain each step, answer questions, and reassure me when I was feeling uncertain. Her positivity was contagious on days when I felt discouraged. Lisa had a way of turning everything around. Her laughter, her warmth, and her sincere care made a difficult experience so much manageable. Lisa has a gift; not only is she highly skilled in her work, but she also has the heart and compassion that define a truly exceptional nurse.
