As you know, the day shift in the Peds ED was a twisting, obstructing, bleeding, breaking, Tympanic membrane busting, breathing, lymph gland swelling, blood pressure raising, immunosuppressing extravaganza! (and yes, those were just some of the patients)
Our morning staff provided thorough, complete, fast and efficient patient care. Collaborative decision making between families, provider and staff allowed us all to provide personalized and individual care to this cohort of hardcore emergent patients. While I've grown accustomed to the outstanding skill and compassion of our nurses and paramedics, this was a day of all of them going way above and beyond. I am proud to call them all my colleagues. You didn't do so bad yourself, even though your triage skills were a bit slow!!! But seriously it comes from the top, and your jumping in to help was essential.

In addition to the fact that Lisa remains clinically competent, and doesn't hesitate to help when the conditions in the Peds ED require it, Lisa's cheery personality, and "go with the flow" personality makes her a critical component for the success in the Peds ED. Lisa's calm and positive nature is essential for dealing with change, challenging situations, and engaging staff to follow. Lisa is a natural leader and this is reflected by her patient satisfaction, turn over, continuous accolades, and employee engagement in the pediatric ED. Lisa isn't afraid to hold people accountable, yet she does it with kindness and professionalism. Lisa Dhanes is an exceptional leader and models the behaviors of excellence in all that she does!
