A patient has been struggling to cope with the reality of having his lower leg amputated. Over the course of months, Lisa has made a personal human connection with this patient such that he has made psychosocial progress toward acceptance. He has come into the clinic specifically seeking out her advice and support and she has helped him to adjust to his body image, consider his activity level after amputation, and ultimately choose to have the procedure so that he can move on with the rest of hislife.
