Prior to my arrival, Lisa had been notified that I'd had a hard time with my last epidural--- a very hard time!! Lisa came in and told me the story about "going on a bear Hunt" and how you can't go around something, can't go over it, can't go under it, you have to go through it. Lisa had no way of knowing that I suffer from disassociation and usually try to leave my body in high-stress situations. My goal was to try to stay "in my body" and go through it. So during the epidural, I thought about the story and how you have to go through it. When the procedure was over, I was told that my heart rate stayed within the normal range. There is no doubt that Lisa was the nurse I needed that day and she truly made a difference that day. Lisa is truly extraordinary!! Thanks.
