August of 2015 became a world wind for me and my family as we learned of the new reality of my grandfather's life. At 88 year's old, an independent man living at his house with his bride of 67 years, my grandfather was gardening and fell. He unfortunately fractured his pelvis in two places, and never totally recovered and ultimately passed August 7th.
Through all of the expected care that my grandfather received, something unexpected was Lisa's genuine kindness and sincerity to both my grandfather and family. Everyday posed new information and decisions that had to be made; she was the one consistent face who was aware of our situation and supporting us throughout. She texted me updates after she would check on him, and would call me when she was concerned.
How an undesirable outcome can turn into something precious is the moment you share and the lifelong connections that you make. Families do not always have the opportunities to thank you, and you will not always know when they remember you affectionately, but please know from this grand-daughter and my family we will never forget your care.
