My husband was admitted with Alzheimer’s complications, and he was scared and struggling with the changes of not being at home.

Lisa came in to his room every day saying, “Good morning, sunshine,” and he would smile and calm down. When he was anxious or not wanting to do something, she would walk up to him and say Let’s go, Mr. Sunshine and without hesitation he would follow.

She made everyone in the family feel welcome and informed, and assured everyone she was there to help him whenever he needed something. I never worried about him when I was not there because she gave him attention and helped him feel comfortable.

 As a nurse, Lisa demonstrates the caring attitude all nurses should, and I can truly say she was meant to be on this unit because she made everyone around her feel cared for.
