We started treating a patient with multiple myeloma. Between his chemo treatments and frequent blood transfusions, the patient and family became very well known to the cancer center. In 2023 with the disease progression, the patient and family decided on Hospice care. The patient was transfused one last time in our infusion center before going home to meet with Hospice. Once home the family realized the patient lost his wedding ring. The ring was found under an infusion chair. Going into the weekend with Hospice care Lisa looked up the patient’s address so she could deliver the ring to his house, which is an excellent example of compassion, and respect for human dignity.
