My sweet little peanut has been in the NICU for over 70 days. Lisa has been her nurse every weekend and sometimes even during the week when she picks up extra hours. From day one, Lisa has been kind, understanding, supportive, and always manages to make us smile. She decided to give our 2-week-old daughter a bath and a fresh incubator, even though others told her she was crazy. Our little peanut was barely 2 pounds, on the oscillating ventilator, nitric oxide, stabilizing medications and just generally in critical condition. Not only did she achieve this safely, she also made sure I was right there by her side, and let me help in any way possible. This was such a special moment to me as a first-time mom. I will treasure this memory for the rest of my life. Lisa became one of our consistent nurses and continues to give us something virtually non-existent as NICU parents, and that's a little piece of mind as we leave our little peanut for the night. I will never forget how Lisa made me feel through this time in my life. She is an exceptional nurse who exemplifies the meaning of care.
