Lisa was nominated by a patient she recently cared for on the Behavioral Health Unit. The patient stated on the nomination form: "Lisa is the brightest star in Pulaski. Radiantly she shines behind the glass in BHU of Lewisgale Pulaski. This is the second time in 1½ years I've been blessed to have her as my nurse. To be placed either voluntary or TDO'd here--she is that bright spot on a dark canvas. Not at any time does she ever make light or dismiss patients having trouble with a heinous disease called "mental illness". I could name other institutions or healthcare workers who make these embarrassing times worse or the patient made to feel it's a choice to be ill. Lisa Humphreys is that rare individual who truly cares, understands, and helps the patient, me, to heal. I feel blessed to have been around her and you should be glad you have her."
