Congratulations to Lisa Kent, R.N., oncology unit, who was named Carroll Hospital Center’s March DAISY Award winner for going out of her way to ensure that her patient’s belongings were returned.
One day in January, a patient of Lisa’s forgot a bag of her clothing when she was discharged from the hospital. The patient’s family lived over two hours away and could not get in due to snowy weather to pick up the clothing. On her own time and during inclement weather, Lisa made sure the patient’s clothing was returned. She drove the bag of clothing directly to the nursing home where the patient resided. The patient’s family was very appreciative of Lisa’s good deed.
“Lisa is an excellent nurse who truly cares about her patients. She never hesitates to go above and beyond her normal job duties to help someone in need,” said Stephanie Reid, R.N., B.S.N., M.B.A., chief nursing officer and assistant vice president of nursing.
