April 2026 Honoree
Lisa Knabb, APRN-CNP
Lisa is the definition of an unsung hero on night shift. For years, she has been a constant, steady presence- someone we can rely on no matter how chaotic the night becomes. While her dedication often goes unrecognized, her impact on both patients and staff is undeniable.
Lisa consistently comes to the bedside when nurses have concerns, taking the time to truly listen and collaborate. She doesn't just give orders- she partners with us, brainstorming thoughtful and effective treatment plans that reflect both her clinical expertise and her respect for the nursing perspective. That kind of teamwork builds trust and leads to better patient care.
What sets Lisa apart is her willingness to jump in wherever she's needed. Whether it's helping with a difficult Foley, placing an IV, or assisting with an NG tube, she never hesitates to lend a hand. Her support is genuine and without ego- she simply wants what's best for the patient and the team.
Despite the long hours and demands of night shift, Lisa remains a friendly, approachable, and reassuring presence. She brings calm to stressful situations and reminds us that we are not alone in the work we do.
Lisa is a vital part of night shift patient care, and the unit would not be the same without her. She exemplifies compassion, collaboration, and quiet excellence every single night. Her dedication and impact are recognized- she truly embodies what it means to go above and beyond for patients and colleagues alike.
