Our manager, Lisa Liciardello, goes above & beyond for the whole team in the APU & PACU department. She shows compassion to her team when listening to our concerns during daily huddles. Whenever there is an issue, Lisa acknowledges it & has an open ear & mind to ways that we can resolve whatever issue is being addressed. For example, when there was an issue with the urology department about administering antibiotics, Lisa reached out to the urology department & included them on how we could prevent further issues. She also addressed and resolved the concern about getting new telemonitors for the unit. In addition, Lisa encourages and motivates her nurses to participate in the clinical nurse ladder program as well getting our certifications for peri anesthesia. Our certifications are over 60%! Lisa frequently acknowledges and recognizes her staff via kudos, emails, during huddles, and DAISY nominations. Lisa always has a positive attitude & remains enthusiastic even when days can be stressful. Even as a nurse manager, Lisa will help out the staff by taking on patients herself in the pre-op, PACU, and post-op phases of care. She helps out with IV insertions & will relieve her nurses to make sure we all get to have our 30-minute breaks for lunch. Lisa frequently sends out emails with updates about our unit & if there are any volunteer opportunities that we would like to be involved in. With all her wonderful qualities, she is a terrific role model & an amazing manager!
