Our son H was ready for discharge when he became sick. Nurse Lisa noticed irregularities on his daily report indicating breathing stoppages. These stoppages were on his chart when we arrived for CARES earlier that day and we were reassured they were normal for his birth size and nothing of concern. Nurse Lisa took it upon herself to do a full inspection and found an abscess on H's upper thigh that turned out to be Group B Beta Strep. We were later informed that babies regularly do not survive this diagnosis and we will forever be grateful to Nurse Lisa's exemplary standard of care that saved H's life.
