My mother was in the hospital more than she was out of it for the last few months of her life. All of the nurses were amazing, but Lisa shined above all of them to my mother. Lisa was always there for my mom, it wasn't anything big, but it was all the little things she did every day that meant way more to my mother.
No matter how little it was (ordering Mom's food - because she could never figure out the phone), Lisa would take the time to do it. She always freshened-up her bed, helped her bathe, made her "special milkshakes", went to the cafeteria to get her something different to eat, picked up her room for her, and walked with her in the hall -no matter how busy she was. She made Mom feel like she was special and was getting some extra TLC. I love that Mom felt that way, but I have a feeling Lisa is like this with all of her patients.
When I think of a St. Joseph's nurse, I think of someone exactly like Lisa who comes to work and cares for her patients as if they were her parents. Lisa was there for Mom's good days and bad, and she always treated her with the utmost respect. Thank you for all you did for her and for me!
