Nomination from a mother: Lisa is a primary RN for my child. Lisa is an excellent nurse. She has an outstanding, calm demeanor. She is a team player. She has a heart and cares for my daughter. She has outstanding clinical skills.

Nomination from supervisor: Lisa is an exceptional nurse. It is evident in seeing her interactions with families. Even during difficult assignments, she has helped overcome obstacles and has helped resolve issues with the family and care team.

One such instance is in caring for a very difficult case. She knew it would be a lot of work but she recognized that she had created a strong rapport with this mom. Although others may find it hard to communicate with the mom, Lisa is able to help mom calm down, address issues and help guide her to resolutions. It takes a strong person with great interactional skills to be able to take care of a family like this. I am grateful she is a primary nurse for this family because she definitely makes a difference.
