As the unit leader, Lisa fosters an environment of trust with an open door, allowing her team to come to her with both professional and personal needs.
Lisa Bishop is the Director of Women's Services at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital and is the first DAISY Leader Award recipient at South Lake Hospital. Lisa is a compassionate leader who excels at giving her all to the care of patients and their families, her team, and the success of the Orlando Health system as a whole. Lisa's constant focus is on the patient and their needs, ensuring her team has the skill set and knowledge to provide the best possible care. She remains clinically relevant and able to jump in to assist her team at a moment's notice – from wearing scrubs on the unit daily to attending leadership meetings – she supports her team in any situation.
As the unit leader, she fosters an environment of trust with an open door, allowing her team to come to her with both professional and personal needs. She is a champion for the L&D team and each team member’s professional growth. She guides the direction of the team by balancing what's best for each individual and what will enhance the care provided. She even spearheaded the DAISY Award program at South Lake Hospital in order to honor team members who are providing amazing care every day. She is also involved in many other areas beyond Women's Services.
She serves on committees at the hospital and at the corporate level. At South Lake Hospital, she is the Leader liaison for the Professional Growth and Development committee, which has proven to be one of the most productive committees on campus. Within the organization, she represents South Lake Hospital on the PDR committee and Policy and Procedures for women's services committee, among others. Most recently, she has taken on an interim role as Director of Women's Services at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, one of the system’s newest hospitals in St. Petersburg, FL. She shares her time between both campuses while remaining constantly available to both teams. Lisa truly defines what it means to be a DAISY Nurse Leader – an outstanding, compassionate and inspirational leader.
