I was involved in a airboat accident when FWC collided with our boat sinking it. I was ejected off the boat and brought to BGMC with an open wound. Once I was placed on the 5 South Tower Lisa Nau was the first nurse I saw, she listened to my pain and what was making me more uncomfortable. She took the time to really understand my history and had so much concern for my previous breast cancer issue that she consulted the doctor who then in turn called Dr. M's pain management team, came in and sat with me for over an hour to understand that what I had been through was different than anything they were used to.

Lisa was always smiling and was always up on the pain management for my trauma, she walked in smiling which caused me and my family to be in a better mood despite the horrible circumstances, Lisa was so compassionate and so caring that I felt as though she was my friend and she really saw me as a person not just a patient. She is an asset to the Broward Health Medical Center. I looked forward to having her as my nurse and I am sure that most other patients feel the same. Your hospital is truly lucky to have her as a vital part of the healing team. She truly made my healing that much better.
