My story started at a hospital in Racine. Having hit rock bottom (hard) from using street fentanyl very heavily for years, I finally came to believe I'd either die or recover. I was so close to taking my life. They took me in and helped with the pain of withdrawal. But that's all they said they could do. I know if I were sent home, there was a chance I probably would have taken my life if I couldn't get help. Nurse Lisa comes in, even though the Dex at St.Francis isn't a special unit for what I'm going through. Nurse Lisa took me in and saved my life!! Hard to write while crying, but I'll try. Nurse Lisa was by far the most understanding person, let alone a nurse I've ever met. I could feel how much Nurse Lisa cared and would do anything in her power to help. I will always remember her for the rest of my life. I love you, Nurse Lisa.
