I am an RN, but I was also a patient facing a very difficult time in my life. I was completely alone, but she stepped up and showed me true compassion and empathy. I have really bad anxiety, and she stayed with me when I received a blood transfusion for the first time and reassured me that I would be ok. She checked up on me frequently throughout the night and was there for me any time I needed it. She is one of the greatest and kindest nurses that I have had the pleasure of getting to know, and she is like that with every single one of her patients. She has such a positive impact on her patients’ well-being, which is such an important aspect of being a great nurse. She helped me feel comfortable and took her time explaining everything to me so that I wouldn’t be anxious or afraid. She is the gold standard of what a phenomenal nurse should be.
