Working very closely with Lisa Phillipp, I have been taught and motivated by the very best. Lisa Phillipp falls into every definition of what an exceptional nurse is. She is a tremendous asset and role model at CentraCare Health - Paynesville.
Lisa selflessly rises above and beyond the definition of a leader. Spending nearly 20 years of her life as a nurse in Paynesville, Lisa's roles include lead charge nurse, stroke coordinator, and transitional care nurse. She has always been admirably dedicated to her field. Lisa is always willing to cover a shift or even come in on her days off to ensure adequate staffing for patient safety and quality care. She is approachable and reliable all hours of the day. She is willing to answer any questions that arise and she impresses me every day with her extensive knowledge in the nursing field. Countless times I have seen Lisa strive to do the very best for every patient and visitor she encounters.
One example that I'll never forget is during one of my first codes in the ER. Lisa's calm and professional demeanor withstood the emotions she was feeling in that undoubtedly stressful situation. The patient unfortunately passed away that day, and as we re-grouped the tears ran down her face. She had not only been able to hold strong as a professional, but she also showed her humanity and her loving, caring nature. The loss of such a beautiful person affected her the same way as it did me. She has a big heart.
I knew she was the nurse I have been striving to become all of my life. The past three years I have been so fortunate to have Lisa as my co-worker. I appreciate all she has done and continues to do for our patients and fellow co-workers.
