This nurse was my mother’s nurse over the course of two days. This nurse went completely over and beyond simply giving my mother her medication. When I asked her to brush my mother’s teeth, not only was she willing to do it, but she explained how her experience as a CNA taught her the importance of establishing a routine for patients, especially those with brain injuries. For two days in a row, she was extremely patient and kind to my mother and our family. She was one of the first nurses to recognize that my mother was aware and not talk down or baby talk to her. She has a lot to offer this hospital. Other nurses and doctors can learn from her skills, character, attentiveness, and kindness. After this nurse talked with me about her experiences as a CNA, my mother’s family worked to establish a morning routine for my mother. I will never be able to thank her enough for the quality of care she provided my mom.
