Lisa Reynolds, MSN, RN, CEN

I would like to nominate Lisa for a DAISY Award for the extraordinary compassion and care she showed my mom and our family—especially during one of the hardest moments of our lives. When we received devastating news about my mom, everything felt like it stopped. Our hearts were heavy, the room felt overwhelming, and we didn’t know how to process what we were being told. In that moment, Lisa became our anchor. She didn’t rush us. She didn’t offer empty words. She simply stayed—present, gentle, and deeply human. Lisa showed compassion in ways that can’t be taught. She spoke softly, explained things with patience, and allowed us the space to grieve while making sure my mom was never alone. She held our hands, checked on us often, and made sure my mom was comfortable, respected, and surrounded by dignity during an incredibly vulnerable time.

What meant the most was how Lisa treated my mom — like she truly mattered, not just as a patient but as a person who was loved deeply. Her kindness brought us comfort when there was very little comfort to be found. Because of Lisa, my mom felt safe, and because of Lisa, our family felt supported when our world felt like it was falling apart. We will never forget the compassion Lisa showed us during that moment. She made an unbearable situation a little more bearable, and that is something we will always carry with us. Lisa is exactly what the DAISY Award represents. We are forever grateful for her care, her heart, and the love she showed our family.
