Lisa Schraeder played a crucial role in securing stable housing for a Veteran on the inpatient mental health unit who had long struggled with limited support and barriers to placement. Despite the Veteran’s complex history and previous housing challenges, Lisa collaborated with the unit’s social workers and community partners to help obtain permanent, furnished housing with utilities included. Her advocacy ensured the Veteran’s past instability did not prevent access to safe shelter.

Although the effort was outside her usual scope, Lisa’s persistence and dedication helped ensure the Veteran could leave the hospital with the resources needed not just to survive, but to succeed. Her commitment exemplifies the exceptional standard of care she brings to every Veteran, and her colleagues deeply value her passion, skill, and teamwork.
