Lisa maintains a can-do attitude and always has a smile on her face.
When I think of a “super-human” who embodies all the qualities that make up a DAISY Nurse, I immediately think of Lisa Tovino. During her time on the acute rehabilitation unit, Lisa has become a strong charge nurse who exemplifies the unique qualities it takes to be a rehab nurse. She is compassionate, patient, and kind with every patient she meets. Lisa maintains a can-do attitude and always has a smile on her face. Throughout the last year, Lisa has worked tirelessly during a global pandemic to care for her patients during their most difficult times. During severe staffing shortages and in the middle of a COVID cluster, Lisa Tovino was seen donning and doffing her PPE six (12-hour) shifts in a row to care for the rehab patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19. Lisa is always offering to switch to night shift or pick-up extra hours to help meet the needs of the unit. In addition, Lisa has worked many hours in the vaccine clinic, vaccinating and monitoring patients receiving their COVID immunization. Lisa, thank you for everything you do for your patients, their families, and the hospital.
