Lisa admitted an ICU patient who was very sick and on life support for seven days. Lisa got to know the patient's husband who stayed at the patient's bedside day and night. The couple had been married for 60 years and the husband told Lisa he would be lost without his wife. Lisa listened to the husband, comforted him, and always made sure he ate during his long days at the hospital. She used her own money to buy the husband food.

When the sad day came that the husband decided to withdraw care from his wife of 60 years, the husband requested Lisa to be his wife's nurse. Lisa was honored and gladly agreed. The wife passed away peacefully with the husband and Lisa at her bedside. The husband called the ICU on the day of his wife's funeral to invite Lisa to attend. Lisa was working that day and unfortunately could not attend. On the way home, Lisa called the husband to check on him and see how the funeral went. The two spoke for a while and he got to tell her about the funeral. The husband was thankful he had someone to talk to on this sad day and thanked Lisa for all she had done for his wife and him.
