As a disabled Veteran in recovery from alcohol dependence and depression, Nurse Washington never passed judgment. During VA vocational rehabilitation, she ensured my obtaining hepatitis and TB tests required for gainful employment. When I needed medication refills, she was persistent in calling and leaving voicemails until we actually talked and then made sure the needed blood pressure medicines were ordered. Nurse Washington, through her continued selflessness and advocacy for my health, assisted me to overcome depressed thoughts and improve my health.
