I have had 2 previous children via C-section. This was my first attempted VBAC. Lisa was so calm, reassuring, and really took charge of the room for everything to run smoothly. The doctor had said it was time to push, and Lisa explained that I had never had this type of delivery and I didn’t know how! She taught me what to do, had me doing practice pushes, and the baby was born in 22 minutes.

Lisa never stopped giving me positive encouragement. When she rolled me to my new room later in the day, she told all of the staff members she saw, “22-minute VBAC, what a rockstar!” She said she would brag for me if I didn’t because it was such an awesome thing to have accomplished. It was so nice having her there through delivery. Even during a few scary times when the baby’s heart rate dropped, her relaxed exterior never faltered. She is truly an amazing nurse in the right field and made me feel so comfortable. I knew Lisa would know what we needed or what to do if things weren’t going as they should. Evanston Hospital is lucky to have her!
