I am a BTK amputee. Not only was my surgery traumatic and painful, but the emotional aspect was something I was not prepared for.
My nurse provided excellent, skillful medical care; but went over and above by providing empathy, compassion, and reassurance to me. Despite her workload and commitment to all her patients, and even though I never saw her not moving - she managed to give me the time I needed when I was at my lowest.
This nurse is a huge asset to your nursing team. Lucky for me, she is on my team, too!
