A young patient came to GI for EGD. She had a worrisome-looking mass that was biopsied. Her care needed to be expedited. The radiology team took the patient for a staging CT scan immediately after recovery in PACU. Lissamma was in charge of the GI Lab that day. She personally went down to the PACU and escorted the patient to radiology to make sure there were no problems with this young lady getting the study.

Performing a staging CT on the same day of the procedure is not often performed. There have been many other times Lissamma has personally gone to pick up inpatients to bring to GI Lab to ensure their procedures were not cancelled. She often goes above and beyond to ensure inpatient procedures are not cancelled.
