I received a call from a patient who wanted to recognize Lissette for the outstanding care he received at Broward Health Coral Springs. The patient praised Lissette as a wonderful, caring nurse. He shared that even though he lived a few minutes away for BHCS, all his prior hospitalizations were at other hospitals some distance away. Before becoming a Police Officer, he worked at some of the other facilities and that was the reason for choosing them for his care.
On this particular admission to BHCS, the patient was transported via the EMS to the Emergency Room and was admitted to CCU. He added that he was frightened because of his respiratory issues. He voiced that it was a calming experience in the care of Lissette because of how she explained everything in a manner he could understand and that she was very patient. Lissette's great treatment towards him changed his perspective about the hospital.
The patient stated that Lissette delivered excellent, compassionate nursing care with an emphasis on patient safety: "Her interpersonal skills were superb." He also stated that working in the medical field requires "a soft touch and a big heart", those words are the epitome of Lissette. "She is inspiring and had a profound effect on my life. She makes nursing care seem effortless."
Lissette has received numerous accolades from patients and families. She is well respected for her knowledge and advocacy for her patients.
