Liz A Diaz, RN

Picking up a post-open heart patient, I was dreading trying to get a notoriously slow patient up and moving. Upon entering the room, she was already sitting up in the chair. She then explained to me that “Liz told me how important it is for me to be moving. I was really scared because it hurts but Liz was very patient and taught me how to do it right.” Innumerable times Liz has gotten that first walk in with various patients or at least set the precedent that the goal is more movement. It sounds like such a little thing, but getting a patient motivated and moving can be very time-consuming and Liz’s championing of more activity for patients is hugely helpful for us on the day shift. Liz is a passionate and magnificent nurse and I am lucky to work with her.
