After being in ICU, my father was lucky enough to have Liz Brech as his nurse for several days on the Pulmonary Unit. She was so kind to my father and completely involved in every aspect of the care he required. She was obviously concerned that all who came in contact with him were aware of his special needs in order to keep him safe and speed his recovery. She made a very scary time for Dad and us as comfortable as possible. She was skilled and thorough in all her care of my dad. We believe he progressed so well due to her excellent and compassionate nursing care.

My father was recently a patient at Miami Valley Hospital in your Pulmonary Patient Care Unit. While the care he received was very good, one of your RN’s, Liz Brech, stands out for the professional care she provided. I have never had a nurse provide such selfless caring to a patient and family to ensure that all possible care was provided and all questions answered. Liz went out of her way to get answers that I needed from busy doctors who had not answered my questions. Liz had the tenacity to get me the information I needed. We welcomed the professional manner in which she handled issues for us.

In addition, her care and concern for my father was so evident in all that she did for him. She possesses an innate ability to bring out the best in others, including my father. He can be quite a handful to manage at times, but was noticeably more cooperative under her care. He even commented on how much he appreciated her and the care she provided.

For these reasons, I believe Liz excels as an exceptional RN and epitomizes all that a nurse can be. Please pass along my heartfelt thanks to Liz. She is unquestionably an asset to Miami Valley Hospital.
