Dear OB Nursing Supervisor,
I am writing to share with you the amazing experience I had with one of your staff members while I was in the hospital last week.
I delivered my baby on Thursday, August 5th. That evening, a night nurse, named Liz-or Elizabeth, came in and introduced herself. She talked to me about my procedure and what I could expect during her shift and beyond. She talked to me about what is normal (emotionally and physically) and what I should be watching out for.
While this was my second child, I was amazed at how much I had forgotten about caring for an infant in just two short years. Liz was so patient as I asked questions in rapid fire succession. I apoligized for being nervous all over again. She could not have been more kind and loving.
Liz was with me every single night during my stay. I think God was watching out for me ☺. She offered me such comfort each evening. Even when she was busy with emergencies, she would stop by to let me know that she would be out-of-pocket while she handled the emergency, but would be back around to check on me when the emergency passed.
My mother stayed with me during my hospitalization and she was equally impressed with Liz. She is a real credit to your hospital staff and your profession. I wanted to make sure you know how very lucky you are to have someone on staff who does an amazing job – even at night when management isn’t watching as closely.
Thank you for providing me with such an excellent professional during my time in need.
Most Sincerely,
Shannan Cake Giaimo
P.S. I also received wonderful care from a nurse named Cindy (with short brown hair and glasses.) She was so attentive and incredibly professional. Lara met me upon checking-in. Her night shift was almost over, but she could not have been more upbeat, happy and positive with me while she prepped me for surgery. Diane Barone was also very professional and kind. These ladies made a huge difference in my stay.
