September 2014 Honoree
liz minzlaff, RN
When I received news that my renal and bladder cancer had moved to my vertebrae column, I was devastated. I thought this was the end for me. This was a time when I needed someone to hold and talk to in order to get over this bad news. This was when a very caring young nurse came to my room to hold my hand and talk to me. Liz's presence just made everything seem better with her calm reassurance when I thought this really did mean the end for me. Liz is a credit to the nursing profession and I will never forget her kindness and professionalism.
Thank you, Liz, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
