Elizabeth was my mother’s nurse during her stay. Both my mother and I are hearing impaired, and my mother is also going blind. She has periods of confusion and an inability to comprehend things, along with muscle weakness. Elizabeth was extremely patient and helpful in the care of my mother and even helped call my mother’s medical clinic to clarify medication reactions from a change in medication over 2 years ago. This medication reaction caused my mother to black out and fall, giving her 2 small brain bleeds and a broken orbital bone. She wanted to make sure that did not happen again, as the Doctor had changed her blood pressure medication this morning. I have never had a nurse so helpful and patient with us, hard-of-hearing people, before. God bless her! We thank you for having wonderful nurses here at Mercy/Unity Hospital.
