We had a patient in the Surgical ICU who had coded. Her husband was at the bedside and spoke Spanish only. Trying to comfort him with all of the doctors rushing in was hard because he could not understand what we were saying or what was going on. Lizbeth was around and was supposed to go home but helped with translation. She was able to calm him, answer his questions, and assist him with some other important things he and his wife had before him outside of the hospital. She translated for us for about 45 minutes and get this, she is still a nurse resident! That showed me right then and there as well as in other instances that she was going to be a dedicated and helpful nurse. Thank you Liz for being so great!
