I have been a nurse for over 20 years, and in all my years, I have worked with many leaders. LizMarie has all the qualities you want and need in a Nurse Leader. She doesn’t instruct; she brings the team together by working alongside each of us. How can “we” fix this? “Let us” take care of this patient and the problem. I see it and hear it from all the nurses I work with. From nurses who float to our floor. And most importantly, from our patients. No matter the situation, she is always there. When a new patient is admitted to the floor, her care and compassion light up the room. During stressful situations, her calm demeanor is unmatched. Helping the nurse and patient both feel at ease, even when things are going badly. I believe that there are greater things to come for her, a leadership role where she can help other Nurse Leaders, educating them on how to bring a team together, and being involved with patient care.
