Her strong advocacy for our patients is evident when speaking with physicians, colleagues, and families. She champions Trinity’s shared goal of guiding our patients through their illness to when they can be successfully discharged with positive outcomes.
Being a clinician for Trinity Health at Home for 8 short months has provided me with many rewarding experiences: helping patients navigate their illnesses, providing wellness education, and witnessing these patients successfully complete their episodes of care with healing. However, one of the most fulfilling experiences I am privileged to account for is the confidence I have working with Lizzette Torres-Curr, LPN. Lizzette has a solid knowledge base when working with patients and their myriad and often complicated health issues. Her strong advocacy for our patients is evident when speaking with physicians, colleagues, and families. She champions Trinity’s shared goal of guiding our patients through their illness to when they can be successfully discharged with positive outcomes. Lizzette has the heart of a true healer, bringing with her a tender presence allowing our patients to feel comfortable and confident that “everything is going to be all right”. She has a can do attitude; jumping in to help with commitment and compassion.

Lizzette is focused, thoughtful, and diligent when providing nursing care to not just our patients, but she is sure to include families and caregivers when attending to patient-specific needs. She has a strong ability to enlist patients and families when steering the plan of care toward the best outcome. How much our patients love Lizzette has been made evident to me on several occasions. When visiting a patient for the first time, I am often suspiciously queried from patients with “Where is Lizzette?!” As her teammate, I am grateful to have her alongside helping me navigate some challenging issues. Without fail, when I call Lizzette to ask for input or guidance, I am always greeted with a resounding cheerful “Hello, M!” instantly putting me at ease. She has a delicate way of knowing the answer but leads me to the solution with her critically thoughtful and probing questions. After each conversation with her I come out as a better nurse, clinician, and person. Her lighthearted spirit and ability to be quick to laugh re-illuminates and inspires my passion for nursing. Lizzette goes above and beyond the call of duty and deserves to be recognized with the acclaimed DAISY Award.
