Lizzie McSherry, RN, BSN
Lizzie was the first nurse we met when we arrived and quickly became one of our favorites. She was always happy but very tuned in to how S was feeling and often chatted with her to allay her fears. Being diagnosed with a brain tumor and doing radiation and rehab at the same time...as a 22-year-old who'd just graduated and started her life in NC...was heavy and Lizzie was not only empathetic but intuitive in seeing S's needs. She was one of the first to go "to bat" for one of us to be allowed in when COVID restrictions shut Marianjoy to visitors. She knew S wouldn't thrive if she had to endure radiation and rehab without family support. Lizzie's caring heart, nursing knowledge, and lovely spirit make her a true DAISY Nurse.
