She told me not to worry about the situation; she helped me calm down. I am so thankful and very much grateful for what she did for me on that very first day of my treatment.
I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer in 2022, and I have been coming to Mountainview Hospital since April 2022. I had my surgery and chemotherapy at the hospital. I met this nurse on the very first day I had my chemo. She was the very first nurse who so patiently gave me all the information I needed during the chemotherapy. She was so kind and caring. First chemo and I didn’t have a port, which was very critical not having a port. This nurse reassured me and comforted me, she said that everything would be okay. But I wasn’t okay because I had a very bad reaction to the chemo drugs that were given to me. Then again, I felt that this nurse was doing everything to calm me down. She told me not to worry about the situation; she helped me calm down. I am so thankful and very much grateful for what she did for me on that very first day of my treatment.
To make the long story short, a year had passed, I had full chemo treatment at the Infusion Centre, and this nurse was always at my side. She was always so patient, caring, and treated me so well, comforting me during the chemo sessions. I know that thank you will not be enough to express my gratitude for her. This nurse has been doing her job above and beyond in making patients like me feel so safe and comforted. Because of that, I’m so thankful to have her as my nurse. She is not only a very good nurse but she is overall a very good human being. She always does so much caring for others. I still come and do my chemo treatments, and this nurse is still helping me and she makes sure I’ll be okay during the treatment. We need more people like her to make the world a better place.
