There were multiple occasions when Logan took time to go find hats or booties to accessorize my twins in.
I delivered my twins at 27 weeks. They spent over 80 days in the NICU at Cone. Logan took the daytime lead on our twins, so every time she worked, she was assigned my babies. I remember when Logan first told us that she was taking “lead” on the twins. I remember not really understanding what she was saying, I was still in a cloud of emotions and pain from my emergency C-section. Looking back now, I am so thankful she decided to commit to my twins during their 12+ week stay. I didn’t get to hold my twins until 72 hours after they were born, and Logan was there the first time I ever got to hold them. I remember being shocked at how confidently she carried my 2lb baby from the isolette to my chest. At this point, I was still terrified to touch the twins, but watching her hold my squirmy, bird-like baby with so much confidence made me feel reassured that I could hold my twins and take care of them, too.

There were multiple occasions when Logan took time to go find hats or booties to accessorize my twins in. One time, I asked her if we could put the twins in Christmas clothes. She said we could! The next day when I came to the hospital, there were several Christmas hats and little booties laid out on the counter in my twins' room. Logan had gone and found all these little Christmas items for the twins. That is an act of intentional kindness I’ll never forget. Other times she would find hats that matched the onesies my twins wore.

One of the funniest things she did for the twins was during my son’s bath time, she wrapped him up and gave him a towel turban for his hair. She didn’t have to do that but took the time to make hospital bath time for my preemie feel special and enjoyable.

Logan offered support to me and my family while we trekked through a long NICU stay. She always advocated for my twins. There were days when I had to be out of town for a night or so, and I always felt such peace and relief knowing that Logan was working a shift that day and would be taking care of my babies. Logan listened to and validated my anxieties and worries that came with being the mom of extremely premature infants and gave me the opportunity to ask questions and be actively involved in my twins' medical care.

Now that my twins are out of the NICU, there is genuinely not a day that goes by that I’m not thankful for Logan and the work she did with my twins. More than that, I am thankful for the friendship, support, and kindness Logan extended to me, my family, and my babies.
