Lois Long maintains the trust and confidence of all she engages. She regularly spends time during her workday to train new hires or to help fellow co-workers with projects and then takes her own work home to complete in the late evenings and weekends. Lois has a breadth and depth of nursing experience that everyone has come to rely on and she willingly shares her knowledge with all she comes into contact with.
Once I asked Lois why she still visits patients in addition to her role as a Nurse Coordinator in the office. She told me how much she loves patient contact and that she would never want to lose the feeling of why she chose nursing as a profession.
No matter how stressful her day is she takes the time to help and answer questions for anyone who needs her assistance. She is a role model for the nurses and the epitome of a DAISY Nurse!
