Sadly, we had an unexpected death in the OR. We called Lois for help with the paperwork. She was very gracious and immediately helped with what she could and then went above and beyond and talked with the ICU charge nurse. They decided it would be best for the family of the deceased to accept the body in ICU and to allow the family to grieve there. They also completed the necessary paperwork. Lois was very proactive in preventing further stress for the other families and patients in the pre-op and post-op areas by shielding them from this very sad situation. It is teamwork like this that makes a challenging day better. Thank you!
