There are several extraordinary nurses in the V2 SCI unit. These extraordinary nurses all have similar traits which is the care and want to do what is right. Loise Ngatha is one of these very special nurses. Since she normally works the night shift, her devotion to the patients is often not notified. Her attention to details is nonetheless, flawless. At the start of the shift she cheerfully greets patients and checks if there is anything needing follow up. She passes on positive encouragement when needed. For example, she passed on positive encouragement to me during wound rounds. She respects the concern of the patients and other staff members. She listens to the concerns of patients and takes into consideration the patients' point of view and collaboratively solves concerns through communication. She projects a positive demeanor to patients and with a pleasant voice and healing words. She works with the patient and other staff members to take care of whatever is needed. The time shift does not limit her willingness to satisfy the patient's need and she does what is needed to get the right thing done.
