Lora models great assessment skills and always has great decision-making capabilities. Her job performance is that of a 5-star nurse and exemplifies the mission and vision as well as values of BHIP. She always collaborates with the healthcare team to meet my needs. She calls doctors when I am experiencing pain, side effects, etc. She is my favorite nurse and establishes a special connection through trust and always gives emotional support when I am feeling down and out, she goes out of her way above and beyond to cheer me up and shifts the conversation in another direction to make me forget about the negative thoughts and turns them positive. I am very hard to deal with and I tend to get angry quickly. I usually don't think before I act and she always counsels me to slow down and not just jump the gun going from 0-100 mph. She always tells me she cares and wants the best for me and for me to do the right thing. She always asks how my mother is doing which really means a lot to me because she does not know that my mother is my rock and the most important person in my life. I had a very bad heroin problem and Lora always tells me about the ones who come to the hospital and don't make it. She's constantly on my case about leaving the heroin alone before it happens to me and being strong telling me to just walk away and say no. I've known Lora for about 3 years from coming to this hospital and she tells me she cares about me and doesn't want to see me die. She tells me I'm smart and can do a lot with my life if I were to simply apply my energy in the right areas, giving me hope and faith. Lora is a great motivator and positive influence. Lora, I will be gone when you return to work, but thank you so much for being so caring and keeping me positive through this long stay.
