My 83-year-old grandma was in the ICU after her 3rd surgery in less than 2 weeks. It was the scariest 2 days for my family and me. The moment Lorenzo Mugica came on duty was a blessing for us. He constantly kept an eye on her and made sure we were ok as well. He always explained things in a way that we would understand and helped us keep a positive attitude. He was so caring and gentle with my grandma and treated her like she was his family. I will never be able to repay him for what he did for us. Metropolitan Methodist and its patients are extremely blessed to have Lorenzo. He deserves the DAISY Award and much, much more. Thank you, Lorenzo, from the bottom of all our hearts. Life in the hospital is a little easier because of you.
