My almost 98-year-old mother has been in and out of Baptist Health Hospitals for over a year and although we have had mostly excellent care, none have been of the quality of care my mother received from Loretta Bafaty. She not only performed her function expertly but was compassionate and proactive. Most importantly, she went beyond the traditional role of a nurse by advising and counseling me regarding end of life issues.
Loretta specifically shared how her mother had been placed with Vitas Hospice and her mom's reaction to certain medicines and life changes. She was also very sweet and caring to my mother, so much so that my mom would throw her kisses every time she saw her. My mom has never done this to anyone, so it is evident that Loretta established a special connection with my mom and also with my family. I am sure that she makes a difference in all her patients' lives for she is an outstanding role model for the nursing profession. I definitely will never forget her compassion and kindness.
