Last winter with ice and snow covering the ground and roads, Loretta was off duty at home. She tuned in to her home scanner and heard that one ambulance after another were taking patients to the emergency room. Concerned for her coworkers and patients, Loretta had her husband drive her to the ED to assit the ED staff to care for patients experiencing acute medical conditions and involved in motor vehicle accidents. This is just one example demonstrating her dedication to patients. Loretta has provided money to young mothers who did not have money for prescriptions and to patients who did not have money to see a specialist. She exemplifies the teamwork and leadership components of relationship based care.
