She rocked him, held him, and sang to him. My baby lay on her chest as if he knew her forever.
My 4-month-old was in the ED around 1-2 am this morning. He was super fussy and coughing, unable to be soothed. I arrived at the hospital after completing a 12-hour shift and she came out of nowhere and scooped him up as if he was one of her own. She rocked him, held him, and sang to him. My baby lay on her chest as if he knew her forever. She didn’t know it, but this mama was beyond exhausted. I had been at St Francis the prior Tuesday -Thursday due to kidney surgery and complications. I also had my 3-year-old come into ED for an asthma attack on the prior Thursday. Nurse Loretta was a God send!! Thank you for letting her be a part of your team! She needs every award possible!!! If I could run and hug her I would definitely do so.
